(2379) Heiskanen is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 21st September 1941 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the Finnish geodesist and geophysicist Weikko Aleksanteri Heiskanen .
