Chur is an asteroid with the number 269550. It was discovered on November 16, 2009 by José De Queiroz , head of the Mirasteilas observatory in Falera , which is a good 20 kilometers from the Swiss city of Chur . The discovery was confirmed by the Minor Planet Center in July 2011. Since then, the asteroid has officially been named Chur.

The minor planet has a diameter of about 2.5 kilometers and moves its orbit around the sun at an average distance of 345 million kilometers. It takes almost four and a half years to circle it.
Surname
The name Chur refers to the main town in the canton of Graubünden , where the Discovery Observatory is located. With 5000 years of permanent settlement, the city of Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland.
