(290) Bruna is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt , which on March 20, 1890 by Johann Palisa the Observatory of Wien was discovered.
Bruna moves at a distance of 1.7 ( perihelion ) to 2.9 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 3.6 years on an eccentric orbit around the sun . The orbit is inclined at 22.3 ° to the ecliptic , the orbital eccentricity is 0.26.
It was named after the city of Brno in 1892 at the suggestion of the Viennese court councilor August Biela . In 1993 another asteroid was named after Brno: (2889) Brno .
