(3222) Lille is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 10 July 1983 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the professor of applied astronomy at Harvard University William Liller on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
