(4009) Drobyshevskij is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on March 13, 1977 by Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych from the Crimean Observatory .
The asteroid was named after Eduard Michailowitsch Drobyschewski (* 1936), a physicist and astrophysicist from the Technological Institute in Saint Petersburg .
