(4088) Baggesen is an asteroid of the main belt , which on April 3, 1986 by the Danish astronomer Poul Jensen at Brorfelde Observatory ( IAU code 054) near Holbæk in Danish Zealand was discovered.
The asteroid was named on March 20, 2000 after the Danish writer and follower of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution Jens Immanuel Baggesen (1764-1826).
