(451) Patientia is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 4 December 1899 by Auguste Charlois was discovered. With a diameter of 225 km, it is one of the largest asteroids in the main belt.
The name of the asteroid was derived from the Latin word for patience .
Patientia moves at a distance of 2.82 ( perihelion ) to 3.30 ( aphelion ) astronomical units , in 5.34 years around the sun . The orbit is strongly inclined towards the ecliptic at 15.2 ° , the orbital eccentricity is 0.077.
