(9447) Julesbordet is an asteroid of the main belt , which on May 3, 1997 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid belongs to the Gefion family, an asteroid family named after (1272) Gefion .
The asteroid was named after the Belgian biologist Jules Bordet (1870–1961), who received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1919 for his discoveries in the field of immunity .
