(9588) Quesnay is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 18 November 1990 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named on March 18, 2003 after the French doctor and economist François Quesnay (1694–1774), who is considered the founder of the physiocratic school of economics.
