Árpád by Klimó

Árpád von Klimó (* 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a German modern historian, university lecturer and non-fiction author .

Life

Árpád von Klimó studied Medieval and Modern History, Art History and Italian at the Free University of Berlin as well as in Venice and Göttingen. In 1995 he did his doctorate at the Free University of Berlin with the dissertation State and Clientele in the 19th Century. Administrative elites in Italy and Prussia (1860–1918) doctorate (Dr. phil.). With the habilitation thesis National History of Hungary in a European Context (1860–1948) , he was habilitated as a professor at the Free University of Berlin in 2001 .

He taught at the Free University and the Humboldt University in Berlin and in Bielefeld. In 2004 he was visiting professor at Jacobs University Bremen and in 2007 at the University of Vienna . Until June 2008, Árpád von Klimó was a research associate at the Center for Contemporary History Research in Potsdam, and since then he has taught as DAAD - Visiting Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and as Associate Professor of History at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC
