Älvdalen is a place in the province of Dalarna County and the historic province of Dalarna in Sweden . It is the capital of the Älvdalen municipality .

economy

The Ginetta G34 sports car was built here from 1997 to 1998 . Älvdalen is still the home of the musical instrument maker Albin Hagström .

partnership

The German Baltic Sea resort of Schönberg (Holstein) has been Älvdalen's partner municipality since 1975 .

Culture

Älvdalen has a Hagstrom Museum that exhibits Hagström's guitars and accordions. Hagström, with around 500 employees, manufactured guitars in the 1960s that became known as Hagström guitars because of their quality and design. There is also a porphyry exhibition in the museum .

Rots Skans is Älvdalen's museum village, where there are around 30 old buildings that depict life from the 16th to the 19th centuries with some exhibits.

In the forests around Älvdalen there is a network of 140 km of sandy trails that are freely accessible and lead to the bathing lakes, fishing waters and forest areas.

In Älvdalen there are also snowmobile trails, cross-country ski trails (Wasalaufspur), ski mountains, swimming lakes and the Österdalälven river .
