The Äußere Mühle is a district of the community Großmehring in the district of Eichstätt in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the Free State of Bavaria .

location

The wasteland is in the southern Franconian Jura northwest of Großmehring and northeast of Mailing at the roundabout of the district road EI 36 and the federal road 16a .

history

In an abandoned gravel pit near the mill, a settlement from the Latène period was found.

The grain mill was operated by the Köschinger Bach . Around 1866 the mill property consisted of four buildings with 14 residents. The grinding operation was stopped around the middle of the 20th century. In 1961 and 1987 the district had five inhabitants, and in 2012 four.
