history

To the north of the button mill, a villa rustica was found in the 1950s with broken glass and painted walls. To the east and northeast of the mill there is a barrow field . During field inspections in the 1990s, three bronze finds from the Urnfield Age were made near the button mill . In 1998 a Roman consecration stone to Jupiter came to light near the villa rustica .

The grain mill was operated by the Köschinger Bach . In 1831 five people lived in the mill. Around 1866 the mill property consisted of four buildings with twelve residents. In 1875 five buildings with 13 inhabitants are proven.

The grinding operation was stopped around the middle of the 20th century and the mill continued as an agricultural operation. In 1961 the district had 18, 1987 twelve and 2012 again 18 inhabitants.
