The series 4130 was an electrically powered railcar of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

history

A variant was derived from the 4030.0 series that was intended to serve high-quality express train services . Four four-part sets were created (4130.01-04, 7130.01-06, 7130.101-102, 6130.01-04) with correspondingly increased performance and increased top speed. A kitchen was housed in the control car , the front pantograph of the railcar was equipped with a narrow bracket according to the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) standard. The vehicles drove among other things as Wörthersee between Klagenfurt and Munich and from 1958 provided the express traffic Vienna-Zurich as Transalpin . In 1965 they were ousted from this service by the 4010 series . As a result, they migrated to local and regional transport and were adapted to the standard of the 4030 series. 4130.02 was sold to the Montafonerbahn and was in use there until autumn 2003. It was then auctioned off.
