Jürgen Wagner (dropout)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jürgen Wagner (proper name: Open! Open!; * May 12, 1964 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German dropout and representative of the " donation movement ".

Life

Jürgen Wagner grew up as the eldest of four sons of a bank employee and a secretary in Gladbeck in the Ruhr area . He attended the Gladbeck Ratsgymnasium and graduated from high school in 1983. He then studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the University of Tübingen and the Ruhr University in Bochum as a candidate for the priesthood of the Diocese of Essen . During his studies in Bochum he lived in the Episcopal College in Bochum-Querenburg . He completed his studies in 1988 at the Faculty for Catholic Theology of the Ruhr University under Franz Josef Stegmann with a diploma. His diploma thesis was entitled Mahatma Gandhi's concept of justice and its acceptance in the (Catholic) Christian area .

From 1988 to 1991 he lived and worked in Kamp-Lintfort at what was then the Emmaus Center Dachsberg of the Emmaus movement , which he got to know in the course of researching his thesis. He also did his community service there from 1988 to 1990 . At the end of 1991 he and his former schoolmate Carsten Schröder decided to get out of civil society. According to their own statements, both gave away their property, sent their ID cards to the Federal President and took to the streets as "pilgrims and begging itinerant preachers".

According to his own statements, Wagner was then traveling all over Germany without a home for several years and was accompanied at times by Schröder, who later gave up life on the street. At the same time, Wagner tried to publicize the idea of a "donor movement" and was also an activist in various social projects . He later moved to a forest near Löbau in Upper Lusatia and lived there in a self-made makeshift hut in the Georgewitzer Skala . He lived on worms, snails, plants and mushrooms, but also on discarded food and food donations.

Wagner has been offering advice and life support to those interested since 2009. In addition, he initiated the “House of Hospitality” project in Dargelütz near Parchim, Mecklenburg, for homeless people and people in need. Over the years, the "House of Hospitality" project or the "Dargelütz Project of the Schenker Movement", expanded by the addition of a few neighboring houses, has developed in such a way that people who have been admitted there have largely self-organized the project design and Wagner is only occasionally present.

In 2005 Wagner became the father of a daughter. In 2008 Wagner had to go to the Eschwege District Court because he did not want to pay the maintenance of 196 euros for his child. He stated that he wanted to pay in the form of ants, snails, and fall apples. In 2009 Wagner visited the psychiatrist Werner Felber in Dresden. After a conversation with him, Felber explained: “Among the contents that I was able to establish during the conversation, nothing spoke of abnormally conspicuous phenomena. [...] A very interesting patient, a highly intelligent person ... "

In 2009 there was also a complaint against Wagner by an ex-partner for spreading pornography. It was about a DVD with personal recordings that had been deposited with a friend. Wagner was acquitted. In February 2012, the police unsuccessfully searched his place of residence for a gun.

Wagner lives with his wife Anke Rochelt and their son, who was born in 2011, in Stadtallendorf . Together with his wife, he runs the “holistic future workshop” “Lilitopia”, which publishes literature on the Schenker movement. One of the first results is the expanded edition of Anke Rochelt's thesis entitled: “Education for holistic sustainability and global responsibility. 'Global identification' instead of 'fragmentary thinking or retaliation' ”. He only stays temporarily in the Skalatal in Löbau .

In January 2014 Wagner was a guest on Olaf Schubert's TV show ( Olaf makes the world better! The Schubert Liveshow ).

In February 2015, Publ visited his “Biotopia Project” again in the Georgewitzer Skala in Saxony, which made headlines in the media because he was threatened with the intervention of a bailiff because of GEZ demands. Newspapers and television tuned in and a "well-known Dresden lawyer" (who had defended the public earlier) agreed to take on legal representation for the public. At the same time, Publ advertised in the media for its event “Real-Newtopia”, a contrast event to the Sat1 program Newtopia : In the Sat1 program “a certain number of people, left to their own devices, should live and take care of themselves”. With its contrast event in the vicinity of Marburg, Publ would like to “actually show how an alternative life is possible”.

In June 2015 the press reported on the development of this “Real Utopia” project on an overgrown meadow on the outskirts of Marburg , that “a group of local activists” established a “Perma-Oase Ockershausen Interest Group” as a support group and tenant of the meadow (“Perma -Oase “) and entered into negotiations with critics and supporters together with Publ. The group wanted to introduce the modern ecological cultivation concept of holistic “ permaculture ” through a “model and educational landscape”, also for schools and universities . H. Extensive nature integration, as a contribution to the "integrated climate protection concept of the city of Marburg". Public wanted for this z. B. explain how to live “as humbly and independently as possible” and u. a. could feed on “weeds” ( wild herbs ), etc. Critics raised “nature conservation and ... regulatory concerns” and objected that there is hardly anything left to be planted on the overgrown area, including “not everyone just has theirs everywhere Put up tents ”, neighbors are worried about their children,“ that a strange man lives there in the great outdoors ”, the association“ lacks seriousness ”, etc. The mayor of Marburg announced a visit to the meadow to clarify, stated that he I know the spokesman of the association as a “serious pursuer of nature conservation intentions”, “stand benevolently towards self-sufficiency initiatives” and also “consider the educational occasion worthy of support”. Since the current project site could be problematic due to the lack of sanitary facilities and the lack of a separate access route for school visits, the city wanted to offer “an alternative site” around 500 m away.

In 2016 and 2017 there were again some media publications about Public Public, Schenker Movement and the Real Utopia Project, for which Public Public a list with links and z. In part, he has also published evidence and comments on his blog : Tanja Heller published the book: Simply live. Stories from getting out. Uwe Haspel published the second edition of the "Chronicle of the Schenkerbewbewegung Part 1 1991-2004" with texts by Marc Bielefeld, Publ, and others , and there was also a first sociological study of dropouts by Sascha Bachmann with the title: Flucht vor der Civilization. Investigation of social dropping out and compulsive self-actualization , which predominantly dealt with Publ Open - which is what, as he wrote in his blog, a sociologist, Bachmann, frightened that a sociologist, Bachmann, called such exit concepts as an 'over-the-top world-rescue hype' with 'North Korea - while other sciences such as developmental psychology assert results such as that there is hardly any real maturity for responsibility - from which the dubious state of responsibility in the world is not difficult to explain. An article was published in “Spiegel online”, which describes Publ Publ in comparison to other well-known drop-outs, with the title: Open Open, the drop-out. The forest is not enough , where Public Public used the comment function to contradict some of the public criticism mentioned in the article. There were also some TV contributions: On public television a broadcast by NDR “Visiting the forest man, public, ”, on WDR, the program “Das Experiment - Mein Leben als Selbstversorger”, where u. a. it shows how a father and his daughter go through challenging self-sufficiency experiences on the public broadcasting network, and a broadcast on ZDF where someone on the public broadcasting network tries a "temporary exit" as "one of the most radical dropouts in Germany".

Positions, Schenker Movement

Wagner rejects the consumer world and sees in it something that will destroy the world in the long term. Wagner proposes a world of the gift economy as an alternative, because he believes that exchanging gifts means treating one another in love. As an alternative, he tries to found a "donor movement that is as unideological as possible" and open to consensus, as a "movement of people who only want to exchange gifts with others in order to live responsibly".

Wagner has so far hardly found people who, like him (as so-called "(existential) givers") only exchange gifts, without money and without exchange, i.e. only in the planning of people with a view of the whole ("global love") without being distracted by looking at what you will get back immediately (retribution calculations).

But he has already found many so-called “Schenker allies”, which is the second subgroup in the Schenker movement besides the “donors”, meaning people who agree to the donor ideals, regardless of how much they realize that from The Schenker movement has meanwhile become a network of associations and joint projects: There are three associations (the non-profit "Association for the Promotion of Giving VFS eV", the equally non-profit "Association pro Beutelsbacher Konsens VBK eV" , and the “Förderverein der Schenker-Movement FdSB eV”), as well as about ten attempts at joint projects in different parts of Germany, including the above-mentioned projects “House of Hospitality” and “Lilitopia”.
