Season course

January rally

The January 30th rally started on the first day with rain, snow, ice and fog. Despite the bad weather, 120,000 visitors came to the Mühlviertel . Over 245 test kilometers were covered on 18 special tests. After the first day, the Czech Jan Kopecký led with 38.9 seconds ahead of the Austrian Raimund Baumschlager and the Czech Václav Pech. On the second day Kopecký was able to maintain his lead up to the 14th special stage, but on the 15th special stage the Czech lost a minute on Baumschlager due to a puncture. From then on, Baumschlager led for a special stage classification. After that, Kopecký was able to regain the lead and maintain it all the way to the finish, thus repeating his previous year's victory. Baumschlager fell back to fourth place on the second day and came second in the overall standings. Beppo Harrach had the vehicle setup changed on Saturday , after which things went better for him and he was able to improve from fifth to fourth. Gerhard Aigner reached the 11th place and was the third best Austrian.

Vine Country Rally

In the second edition, the Rebenland Rally , Raimund Baumschlager was able to achieve a clear victory over his opponent Beppo Harrach. Harrach was usually a second behind Baumschlager on Saturday morning, he was able to set his only special stage best times in the eighth and 13th special stages. Gerwald Grössing had a brief duel with Kris Rosenberger , took third place on Friday and defended this place on Saturday to the finish. The Austrian Achim Mörtl celebrated his successful comeback, because he won the 2WD class and a great fifth place overall. The German Hermann Gassner sen. On the last special stage he lost valuable two minutes due to a defective turbocharger and thus his fifth place overall and ended up seventh. Christian Mrlik had to cancel his planned start due to pending budget fixings. Fritz Waldherr had a serious accident that ended with nothing.

Lavanttal rally

There were twelve special stages on the program at the 37th Lavanttal Rally . Beppo Harrach won the first four special stages on a rainy Friday, and on Saturday he also won four more special stages in rain, fog, slush and ice. For Raimund Baumschlager it was therefore clear that the rally had already been decided, but he was still able to win four special stages. With a lead of 39.2 seconds and a start-to-finish victory, Harrach won ahead of Baumschlager and Gerwald Grössing. With that he reported back in the fight for the title. Gerwald Grössing could not bring the second place to the finish on Friday, but could clearly win the duel with his compatriot Kris Rosenberger. With two punctures and two spins, Grössing saved third place and in the end he was 1:43 minutes short of the lead. Achim Mörtel retired from the seventh special test due to a technical defect.

Change country rally

After the departure of the main sponsor Bosch , Willi Stengg sen. and his organizational team from the Stengg Motorsport Fan Club faced the difficult decision of whether to continue the rally or not and they were looking for new sponsors. One month before the rally event it was clear that the rally could continue under the new name Wechselland Rallye , with old and sometimes new partners.

For Raimund Baumschlager, 7.8 seconds were ultimately decisive for the victory over his strongest competitor Beppo Harrach. Because Harrach came close to the overall victory on Saturday lunchtime to within 0.5 seconds and had to be satisfied with second place after twelve special stages. As in the other rally events, Gerwald Grössing was third again. Willi Stengg Sr. had to struggle with turbo hose problems for most of the weekend and finished in fourth place. Kris Rosenberger also had to struggle with various problems, finishing fifth.

On the last special stage of the first day it started to rain in the middle of the race, there was a serious accident between Christian Rosner and Peter Ölsinger and the special stage had to be canceled. Max Zellhofer slipped off the piste on the ninth special stage in the dark forest, hit a tree violently, his vehicle was badly damaged and his copilot Andre Kachel suffered a broken collarbone. Michael Böhm celebrated a clear 2WD victory.
