Lavanttal rally

The Carinthian Lavanttal - rally from 1977 and until 1988. Since 2000, again scoring run for the Austrian Rally Championship . In addition, it has been a race of the Opel Corsa OPC Cup since 2012 .

The record winner of this rally is Raimund Baumschlager , who was successful six times (1992, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2012). The other multiple winners are Franz Wittmann sen. (1980, 1983, 1988), Wilfried Wiedner (1984, 1985, 1986; Hattrick ) and Raphael Sperrer (2000, 2001, 2002; Hattrick), who each won the rally three times.

New name of the rally

On January 10, 2008, the organizer MSC Wolfsberg announced that a new main sponsor had been found in Lico. From 2008 the previous Pirelli Lavanttal Rallye will be called Lico Lavanttal Rallye powered by Pirelli . For 2009 the Lavanttal Rally has found a new main sponsor in BP Ultimate. The second ÖM run from March 27th to 28th, 2009 is called the BP Ultimate Rally in Lavanttal .

1) from 1989 to 1999 there was no competition at the Austrian State Rally Championship

2) The rally was canceled due to the fatal racing accident of the Austrian Herbert Breiteneder (54) on the second day of the race in the fifth special stage. At the time of the demolition, Raimund Baumschlager was leading a second ahead of Franz Wittmann jun. (both Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and Beppo Harrach (CNG Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX).
