ÜWG Odenwaldkreis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The non-partisan voter community Odenwaldkreis (short: ÜWG Odenwaldkreis ) is an association of non-party people , for example to be able to participate in politics as a parliamentary group .

history

The ÜWG Odenwaldkreis was founded on September 9, 1956 by representatives of the non-partisan community lists in Beerfelden , Erbach , Michelstadt , Höchst , Neustadt , Hainstadt , Lützel-Wiebelsbach , Steinbach and Zell . The initiator of this meeting was Erwin Hasenzahl , Mayor of Michelstadt.

The ÜWG then submitted its own nomination for the district council election of the then Erbach district on October 28, 1956. In this election it immediately reached 8 seats and thus became the second largest parliamentary group in front of the CDU (5 seats) and behind the SPD , which achieved an absolute majority with 18 seats. In the remaining elections to date, the ÜWG has won 5 or 6 seats. It was not until 2011 that it was able to grow again and achieved its best election result in the Odenwald district with 9 seats.

For the district election on March 8, 2009, the ÜWG sent its own candidate into the race. Dietrich Kübler failed with 47.9% because of the absolute majority.

In the runoff election due on March 29, 2009, Kübler achieved a clear result with 86.6%, as the opposing candidate Erika Ober , who was also "qualified for the runoff", withdrew her candidacy. He took office on September 1, 2009 and thus ended the era of the SPD, which had previously been the district administrator of the Erbach district and the Odenwald district for over 60 years.

Kübler was in office until August 31, 2015. He was succeeded by Frank Matiaske (SPD), who won the election on March 15, 2015 with 58.9% against the previous incumbent.
