Live and act

After attending the Nguyen Van Cu School of Politics in Hanoi , Thịnh studied law, history and political theory. She was Vice President of the Vietnamese Women's Union. She also held various political offices in the Communist Party of Vietnam before she was elected Vice President of Vietnam on April 8, 2016 in the National Assembly with over 90% of the vote.

Her commitment to strengthening women's rights led, for example, to her participation in the Asia-Europe Women's Forum in September 2018 in Saint Petersburg , where around 2000 delegates from 100 countries were represented. The forum was dedicated to the topic of women for global security and sustainable development . In her speech, Thịnh emphasized the role of women in "building a peaceful, safe, prosperous world". Achieving equality should be seen as a “privileged task” as well as developing opportunities for women's participation. Just over a year earlier, as part of a media campaign against domestic violence, she called for investment in prevention and control and support for the victims.
