Đuro Gašparović (born June 20, 1951 in Golubinci , SR Serbia , Yugoslavia ) has been bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of Syrmia since 2008 .

Life

Đuro Gašparović was born in the local parish of Golubinci in Syrmia . He attended elementary and middle school there. Later he attended high schools in Zagreb and Đakovo, where he obtained his Abitur . Subsequently, he studied from 1972 to 1977 Catholic theology and philosophy and received on 29 June 1977, the sacrament of Holy Orders . His first chaplaincy was for one year in Ruma in Syrmia, from 1978 to 1979 Irig . In 1979 he continued his studies in Rome and graduated with a master's degree in liturgical studies from the Anselmianum papal faculty.
