Şeref Has (born September 27, 1936 in Yeniköy , Istanbul , † June 13, 2019 ) was a Turkish football player and official . From summer 1992 to summer 2004 he was a member of the board of the Turkish Football Association .

Player career

Şeref Has started his club football career at Beylerbeyi SK . He then moved to Beyoğluspor .

In the summer of 1955 he moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul and played for this club for 15 seasons.

Through his many years of service at Fenerbahçe Istanbul , he is strongly associated with this club. He is seen by both the fans and the club as one of the most important players in the club's history. With Fenerbahçe he was able to win the Turkish championship five times and the Turkish football cup once . For a long time he was behind Fenerbahçe legend Lefter Küçükandonyadis as the second most appearances player for this club, until both were overtaken by Müjdat Yetkiner in this category in the 1990s .

For the 1968/69 season, Fenerbahçe decided to make a radical cut with the team and form a new team with young players. As a result of these measures, they separated from many seasoned players, including Has. Has then declared that he wanted to end his career at the end of the season. To this end, a farewell game was organized on June 21, 1969, in which Fenerbahçe competed against a selection of stars. In this farewell game, Özcan Arkoç and Uwe Seeler , two well-known greats in German football, also took part.

Has later played for Mersin İdman Yurdu from 1973 to 1976 , where he also held the post of assistant coach. Following this time, he ended his active playing career.

National team

Şeref Has played twice for the Turkish U-18 national team and 39 times for the Turkish national team . He ran for the latter in ten encounters as captain.

In 1954 he took part in the FIFA youth tournament with the Turkish U-18 team and came fourth behind the Argentine U-18. Has made two stakes during the tournament.

With the Turkish selection he took part in the ECO Cup in 1967 and was able to win this cup with his team.

Private

  • Şeref Has was the younger brother of the Fenerbahçe legend Mehmet Ali Has, known as Tarzan Mehmet Ali .
  • He graduated from the renowned Istanbul Kabataş Erkek Lisesi High School .
  • Has had been married to the daughter of İbrahim Tusder , a former Galatasaray player , since the early 1960s . During his time at Beykozspor, he was the head coach of Şeref's older brother Mehmet Ali Has.
