The Šlapanka is a left tributary of the Sázava in the Czech Republic .
geography
The Šlapanka rises east of Věžnice at the foot of the Kopeček hill (627 m) in the Arnolecké hory . On its upper reaches to Polná it is called Jamenský potok .
Its course initially leads to the west and is crossed by the D 1 motorway at Kozlov . Here the stream turns to the north and via Jamné and Věžnička it feeds the reservoirs Březina and Peklo. Then it reaches Polná , from where it is known as Šlapanka. Below Polná, the Šlapanka feeds the Kukle reservoir. Then the river turns to the northwest and via Horní Věžnice , Dolní Věžnice , Lutríán, Šlapanov , Mírovka, Baštínov, Lipovský Dvorec and Herlify the river reaches Havlíčkův Brod . Here it flows into the Sázava after 34.6 km. Its catchment area covers 265.2 km². The average flow at the mouth is 1.6 m³ / s.
