ʿAbd al-Majid an-Najjār

Sheikh ʿAbd al-Madschīd an-Najār ( Arabic عبد المجيد النجار, DMG ʿAbd al-Maǧīd an-Naǧǧār ; Born on 28. May 1945 in Beni Khedache, Medenine ), even in the case Abdul Majid al-Najjar , is also of France from acting Tunisian Islamic legal scholars, intellectuals and university teacher and a personality of Islam in Europe .

ʿAbd al-Madschīd an-Najjār was born in Beni Khedache in the Medenine Governorate in 1945 . He completed his training at Ez-Zitouna University in Tunisia and at al-Azhar University in Egypt . He received his doctorate in 1981 on the sources of Islamic law. One of his topics is the “minority fiqh( Fiqh al-aqallīyāt ) . In Paris , according to the list of signatories to the Amman Message , he was President of the Islamic Center . He is assistant to the secretary general of the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR) and also of the International Union of Muslim Scholars ("International Union of Muslim Scholars"; IUMS). He was one of the signatories of the Amman Message (Amman Message) . He has taught as a professor at various universities in the Arab world , including Algeria , the United Arab Emirates , Qatar and Morocco . During the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia, he was at the head of the Ennahda ("Movement of Rebirth") in Medinine and won a seat in the Constituent Assembly in the elections for the Tunisian Constituent Assembly on October 23, 2011. He is the author of numerous publications, including on the “Jurisprudence of Citizenship” (Fiqh al-muwāṭana) .
