Zaghloul El-Naggar
Zaghloul Ragheb Mohamed El-Naggar ( Arabic زغلول راغب محمد النجار, DMG Zaġlūl Rāġib Muḥammad an-Naǧǧār ; * 1933 in al-Gharbiyya , Egypt ) is an Egyptian scientist, Islamic scholar and author. One of his main focuses is the Iʿjāz (questions of the scientific miracle character in the Koran and in the Sunna ).
He studied geology at Cairo University and received his PhD in geology from the University of Wales . He is a professor of geosciences and teaches at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah , Saudi Arabia . He is a Fellow of the Islamic Academy of Sciences in Amman , Jordan . He is chairman of the International Commission of Scientific Miracles in the Koran and the Sunna (الهيئة العالمية للإعجاز العلمي في القرآن والسنة/ Committee on Scientific Facts in the Glorious Qur'an ) in the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (المجلس الأعلى للشؤون الإسلامية) of the Arab Republic of Egypt based in Cairo .
He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter A Common Word between Us and You , the personalities of Islam to "Leaders of Christian Churches everywhere ..." (October 13, 2007).
In 2009 he was included in the list of the 500 Most Influential Muslims by the Prince al-Walid-bin-Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University and the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center of Jordan .
He is married to Arwa Shehada Elanani.
