Rāʾ ,راء, is the tenth letter of the Arabic alphabet and (as Re ) the twelfth of the Persian . It emerged from the Phoenician Resch and is thus related to the Latin R , the Greek Rho and the Hebrew Resch . The numerical value 200 is assigned to it.

Sound value and transcription

The Ra corresponds to the "Zungen-R" as it is in some German dialects and in some foreign languages ​​such as B. occurs in Spanish .
