Ꜯ

The Ꜯ ( lower case ꜯ) is a letter from the Latin alphabet . In terms of appearance, it essentially corresponds to the Cuatrillo , but has an additional comma- like character at the bottom right. The letter was introduced by Spanish missionaries in Latin America for the writing of the Maya languages ​​there . The sound that this symbol represents is described by the missionaries as "similar to the c with cedilla , ç , but faster and with stronger emphasis - ds or dz" . This sound is known today as glottalized voiceless alveolar affricates (IPA: / t͡sʼ /).
