(1000) Piazzia is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt that was discovered by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on August 12, 1923 . The planetoid got its name in honor of Giuseppe Piazzi , the discoverer of the first asteroid (1) Ceres .

Piazzia moves at a distance of 2.3687 ( perihelion ) to 3.9858 ( aphelion ) astronomical units around the sun in around 5.66 years . The orbit is inclined 20.549 ° to the ecliptic , the orbit eccentricity is 0.2545.
