(10010) Rudruna is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 9, 1978 by the Russian astronomers Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych and Lyudmila Ivanovna Tschernych at the branch of the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 095) in Nautschnyj .

The celestial body belongs to the Vesta family , a large group of asteroids named after (4) Vesta , the second largest asteroid and third largest celestial body in the main belt.

(10010) Rudruna was on September 2, 2001 after the Russian Peoples' Friendship University (RUDruNa;; Rossijskij Universitet Druzhby Narodov Russian Российский Университет Дружбы Народов named that until 1992 the name of the murdered first prime minister of 1961) Democratic Republic of Congo Patrice Lumumba was .
