(1088) Mitaka is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 17th November 1927 by Japanese astronomers Okuro Oikawa in Tokyo was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the Japanese city of Mitaka , where the Tokyo astronomical observatory is located.
