(11709) Eudoxos is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 27 April 1998 by the American Italo- astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( IAU code south 684) of Prescott in Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid was named on November 23, 1999 after Eudoxos of Knidos (approx. 395 – approx. 340 BC), a Greek mathematician , astronomer , geographer , doctor , philosopher and legislator of antiquity .
