(11726) Edgerton is an asteroid of the main belt , which on May 1, 1998 by the American astronomer Robert Linderholm at Lime Creek Observatory ( IAU code 721) in Cambridge in Nebraska was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Nebraska native electrical engineer Harold E. Edgerton (1903–1990).
