(1390) Abastumani is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 3, 1935 by the Russian astronomer Pelageja Fyodorovna Shain at the Crimean Observatory in Simejis .
The name of the asteroid is derived from the Georgian city of Abastumani , the location of the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory .
