(140) Siwa is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt discovered by Johann Palisa on October 13, 1874 . The name is derived from the Slavic goddess Siwa .

Siwa moves between 2.1 ( perihelion ) astronomical units to 3.3 astronomical units ( aphelion ) around the sun in 4.5 years . The orbit is inclined 3.2 ° to the ecliptic , the orbital eccentricity is 0.22.

Siwa has a diameter of 110 km. It has a dark carbon-rich surface with an albedo of 0.07. The exact period of rotation of the asteroid is not yet known.
