(1444) Pannonia is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 6. January 1938 by the Hungarian astronomers György Kulin at Konkoly Observatory in Budapest was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the former Roman province of Pannonia , which largely corresponds to Transdanubia in present-day Hungary.
