(14533) Roy is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 24, 1997 by the French amateur astronomer Pierre Antonini at his private Observatoire de Bédoin in Bédoin ( IAU code 132) in the French department of Vaucluse . The first sightings of the asteroid had already been made in September 1927 under the provisional designation 1927 RG3 at the State Observatory in Heidelberg-Königstuhl .

(14533) Roy was named on July 26, 2000 after the French amateur astronomer René Roy (* 1938).
