(16065) Borel is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 September 1999 by the American Italo- astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( IAU code in 684) Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid was named on November 11, 2000 after the French mathematician and Minister of the Navy Émile Borel , whose contributions to Borel's σ-algebra , which is named after him , to probability theory and measure theory were honored.
