(164589) La Sagra is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on August 11, 2007 by the team of the Observatorio Astronómico de La Sagra .

The asteroid was named on March 21, 2008 after the mountain La Sagra , on which the observatory named after it is located. This was the first small body discovered by the Observatorio Astronómico de La Sagra and numbered by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
