(16529) Dangoldin is a Mars orbit asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on April 9, 1991 by the American astronomer Eleanor Helin at the Palomar Observatory .
The celestial body was named on January 28, 2002 after Daniel S. Goldin (* 1940), who was NASA administrator from 1992 to 2001 and who founded the “Faster, Better, Cheaper” concept, which led to a reorganization of NASA.
