(16750) Marisandoz is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 18 August 1996 by the American astronomer Robert Linderholm at Lime Creek Observatory ( IAU code 721) in Cambridge , Nebraska was discovered.
The celestial body was named on April 27, 2002 after the American writer Mari Sandoz (1896-1966), who wrote 21 books and stories about life on the Great Plains , including a biography of the leader of the Oglala Indians Crazy Horse .
