(202) Chryseïs is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt that was discovered on September 11, 1879 by Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters .

The celestial body was named after Chryseis from Greek mythology . Chryseis, a daughter of the Apollo priest Chryses, was kidnapped by the Greek hero Achilles .
