(2171) Kiev is a Main Belt asteroid discovered by TM Smirnova on August 28, 1973 at the Crimean Observatory , Nautschnyj . It was named in honor of the Ukrainian capital Kiev (English: Kiev). Its diameter could be determined to be about 9 kilometers.
