(2181) Fogelin ( 1942 YA ; 1952 HC 2 ; 1975 VF 9 ) is an asteroid of the middle main belt that was discovered on December 28, 1942 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at the State Observatory Heidelberg-Königstuhl on the Königstuhl near Heidelberg ( IAU-Code 024) was discovered. The asteroid belongs to the Eunomia family, a group of asteroids named after (15) Eunomia .

designation

(2181) Fogelin was named after Eric Fogelin (* 1961), an assistant at the Minor Planet Center from 1979 to 1980. He was significantly involved in the digitization of the data.
