(25930) Spielberg is an asteroid of the main belt . It was discovered on February 21, 2001 by the Chinese-born Canadian astronomer William Kwong Yu Yeung at the Desert Beaver Observatory ( IAU code 919) in Arizona .

The asteroid was named after the American film director , film producer and screenwriter Steven Spielberg (* 1946), who received three Academy Awards for his work .
