(28) Bellona is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on March 1, 1854 by Karl Theodor Robert Luther at the Düsseldorf observatory . The celestial body was named after Bellona , a goddess of war from Roman mythology .

Bellona has a diameter of 121 kilometers. It has a light, silicate-rich surface with an albedo of 0.18.

It rotates around its own axis in around 15 hours and 42 minutes.
