(2905) Plaskett is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 24 January 1982 by the US American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the Canadian astronomers John Stanley Plaskett (1865-1941) and Harry Hemley Plaskett (1893-1980), who both worked as father and son at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory in Saanich (British Columbia) , Canada and were among the few Belonged to families in which more than one member was awarded the gold medal of the Royal Astronomical Society .
