(296) Phaetusa is an asteroid of the inner main asteroid belt , which was discovered on August 19, 1890 by Auguste Charlois at the Observatory of Nice .
The celestial body was named after Phaetusa , one of the daughters of the sun god Helios from Greek mythology .
Phaetusa moves from 1.8715 ( perihelion ) to 2.5858 ( aphelion ) astronomical units around the Sun in 3.3272 years . The orbit is 1.7467 ° inclined to the ecliptic , the orbital eccentricity is 0.1603.
