(29736) Fichtelberg is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on January 21, 1999 by the German amateur astronomer Jens Kandler at the Drebach observatory ( IAU code 113) in the Erzgebirge district .
The asteroid was named after the Fichtelberg , which at 1215 m above sea level. NN highest elevation on the Saxon side of the Ore Mountains .
