(3309) Brorfelde is an asteroid of the inner main belt , which was discovered on January 28, 1982 by the Danish astronomers K. S. Jensen and Karl Augustesen at the Brorfelde Observatory ( IAU code 054). Due to its orbit parameters, it belongs to the Hungaria group .
In 2005, observing fluctuations in brightness, the possibility appeared that (3309) Brorfelde might have a moon. In 2006, observations at the Palmer Divide Observatory confirmed that (3309) Brorfelde is a binary asteroid.
The asteroid was named after the place of its discovery on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the observatory's founding.
