(3558) Shishkin is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 26, 1978 by the Ukrainian - Soviet astronomer Lyudmyla Shuravlowa at the branch of the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 095) in Nautschnyj .

The asteroid was named after the Russian painter and graphic artist Iwan Iwanowitsch Schischkin (1832–1898), who was a member of the Peredwischniki and is considered one of the most important landscape painters and representative of naturalism in Russian painting.
