(3810) Aoraki is an asteroid of the main belt , the February 20, 1985 by the New Zealand astronomer Alan C. Gilmore and Pamela Margaret Kilmartin at Mt John University Observatory ( Observatories Code 474) on the South Island of New Zealand was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Aoraki / Mount Cook , the highest mountain in New Zealand with 3724  m , which is also known under the abbreviated name Mount Cook and forms the center of the Mount Cook National Park .
